This is a divine compilation of select Sanskrit verses by Bhagavān Shri Ramaṇa Maharshi from Vivekachūḍāmaṇi attributed to Shri Ādi Shankara. The Maharshi’s selections also include corresponding Tamil verses composed by Shri Bhikshu Shāstri (Ulaganātha Swāmigal). While Shri Shankara is universally popular for his enormous contributions to Advaita Vedānta, Shri Shāstri, hailing from the 19th century Thiruvidaimarudur in the present Indian state of Tamil Nadu, is said to have translated multiple other works into Tamil including Ribhu Gita, Mukti Khanda of Suta Samhita and Suta Gita. English translation for the Sanskrit version is by Swami Mādhavānanda, the ninth President of Rāmakrishna Math and the Rāmakrishna Mission.
